Back on the road on the BMW RnineT – sunny days in Cheshire.
Last time I posted was a couple of weeks ago in mid August when I was catching up after my latest trip to Ireland on the F900 XR.
Last month’s trip was short but enjoyable.
I have always maintained that if you get decent weather, Ireland really does take some beating. In fact my wife and I are heading back to Ireland in Spring next year. That trip isn’t going to be a bike trip, but it will be a road trip.
Last time we were there together was for a brilliant couple of weeks in 2022, so it will be nice to be there again in the spring
Rain and more rain
This summer has felt a little like last year when we seemed to have endless amounts of rain. The rain has certainly curtailed some of the biking that I might otherwise have done this year.
Regular readers may recall that last year (2023) I decided to cancel the Ireland/Scotland trip I had booked. Instead I headed for the sunshine and warm roads of Spain and Portugal.
One of my favourite places on a motorbike
I’ve biked extensively across Europe in the last 20 or so years but motorcycling in Spain and Portugal rates very very highly on my list and probably is my favourite place to go.
In fact I’m heading that way again very soon so don’t forget to check back in due course.
Although I haven’t really got round to thinking too much about biking in 2025, my options are still open, I can already feel the temptation of Spain and Portugal tugging at me so who knows what I’ll do.
If you do want to check out more random items from me and general travel stuff then you might want to head over to my rainycity blog – this blog is pretty exclusively bike related.
And before the end of this year …
After the Spain/Portugal trip we have some more travel scheduled before the end of the year. This travel includes trips to Belgium and Germany and that will be featured over on the rainycity.blog.
Although we haven’t settled our plans for 2025 we do know that we will be making trip to Ireland and Scotland again, and as ever those trips will be over on the rainycity.
At last a decent day
At last there was decent day that lined up with other commitments, and I was able to wheel the RnineT out for a mornings riding into Cheshire for coffee and a magnificent Eccles cake at Tillys in Bunbury.
Other than that my bike related activity has been around buying couple of new items and some pre trip preparation, I’ll write more about that later this week. In the meantime there are a few pictures below from my ride out for a coffee – including a couple from the J&S Northwich car park of a Triumph Speedmaster and a Yamaha XR.
