Motorcycle Live Nov 2025 – at the National Exhibition Centre

I called at this year’s Motorcycle Live show this weekend at the NEC in Birmingham.

The last time I was there was back in 2022 (see post here).

The itch to get close to bikes is nagging at me. The frustration of not being able to get on a bike since June isn’t going away at all.

Unfortunately due to the way my recovery is going and some minor complications with the knee repair I can’t quite say with certainty just when I’ll be back on a bike.

Was going to the bike show a good idea

To be honest I’m not so sure it was a good idea to visit the show.

Not being able to get out on a bike has meant a real shortage of things to write about  – going to the bike show as a minimum was sure to give me plenty of content for this blog post. The fact you are reading this is proof enough of that.

As much as I enjoyed going to the show, the truth is that it has left me feeling a little flat and deflated.

Not specifically because of the show, but more because it illustrated just how far away I am from getting back on a bike.

I tried siting on a few of the bikes but the lack of flex in my left knee is a real issue. I think the Honda CMX 1100 was the only bike that seemed close to possible and even that with its more relaxed knee flex requirement is a way off at the moment.

I’ll just need to remain optimistic that the next round of surgery does the trick

Sometime in the spring

Despite the lack of certainty, I am determined to remain hopeful and optimistic that sometime in the Spring I’ll be back on a bike.

And if you’re wondering when spring 2026 will begin then it will be with the March equinox on March 20th and will end with the June solstice on the 21st.

If I’m not back on a bike by then I’ll be beyond disappointed.

But as the writer and naturalist Hal Borland said ‘no winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn

So what’s in this post

It’s really nothing more than a picture post split into three separate sets. The first is a large set of ‘general pictures from the show. The second set features some close up detail of various components. The third and final set are what I would describe as people at the show pictures.

It’s not normally the done thing to apologise in advance but it would probably be fair to say that for a couple of reasons – including my slower pace and slightly reduced mobility the pictures aren’t quite as plentiful (variety wise) or as good (quality wise) as I would have liked.

But I hope that scrolling through them will give you a flavour of the show – especially if you were not able to get there.
