I went along to the Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show in Staffordshire over the weekend. The show was on for two days (Saturday and Sunday) – I went along on the Sunday with my nephew Andrew. Advance tickets were only £10 each and I have to say it was more than good value. It was the first time that I have been to that show and I was pretty surprised at just how extensive it was.
Car parking was free/included in the ticket price and there was an almost overwhelming amount of stuff to see – and if you were looking for any bits and pieces including those hard to find bits for old builds/restorations it struck me that this really was an excellent place to hunt those parts down.
There were plenty of food and drink concessions as well – and the whole thing was pretty well set out, although that’s probably not surprising as they have been doing it for over 20 years (I think this was the 23rd).
We also paid our £2.50 to watch the Wall of Death riders and it was great value and pretty impressive as well – couldn’t help but wonder how long before the ‘health and safety brigade’ put a stop to that.
I think there is a winter show around February time – and based on this weekends experience I plan to go to that but probably with a list of a few bits and pieces for a Guzzi (V50 Monza) build that I have in the garage.
