despite a decent performance – and for the most part a pretty even match up City’s Champions League hopes were all but put to the sword in the 0-2 defeat at The Ethihad last night, as Barcelona took the advantage in advance of the second leg.
Of course it’s not over until it’s over but realistically that’s the end of the european aspirations for this season – BUT it was a good night and set within the context of just 15 years ago I was watching City play in the 3rd tier of English football and play teams like Macclesfield then to see them take the stage in the ‘glamour’ tie of the round against Messi and his Barcelona team is still hard to believe.
So overall disappointed but pragmatic about it and looking forward to the Barcelona trip and entering the Camp Nou
