Lovely Christmas Day with our children and grandchildren – the pictures speak for themselves

decent day out in the slow lane

Yesterday we hired a canal barge and did the 16 mile round trip from the Portland Basin to Marple Locks and back – it was a really enjoyable day all round, good fun and fresh air are a difficult combination to beat.

Went for a very enjoyable walk on Saturday and Pat and I ended up doing the best part of 9.5 miles, the weather was just right and the scenery was just lovely along the Peak Forrest canal and onto Marple
