Biggest ride in a year – 260 mile Welsh loop on the CMX1100.
My last post was a short update after doing some routine work on my Moto Guzzi V7. You can still read that post through this link.
Before that, I wrote about a trip on the CMX into Cheshire and then over the Horseshoe Pass.
A longer trip
This ride was my longest in more than a year. It came just before the first anniversary of the accident and followed my 277‑day enforced break from riding.
A really decent day

I had a really decent day out – and headed off for North Wales via Llangollen, Corwen, Bala, Dolgellau, Ffestiniog and Betwys- y- Coed, then towards Llangollen again and then home all in all about 260 miles and the longest ride I have done since getting back on a bike.
It left me pretty exhausted but all in all it was a good day.
The bike is now close to how I want it. All being wheel some good weather should allow a longer trip soon. There will be no European ride this year… medical issues and insurance prevent that.
Despite no euro’ trip this year I am optimistic about another Iberian adventure next year.
Posts that are coming soon
It has taken me an absolute age to find a tank bag set up that works taking into account the shape of the petrol tank and the low position of the TFT dash.
Mounting a sat nav in the way I wanted proved something of a challenge and it also took me a couple of go’s to get a rear rack sorted.
In between getting that in place I also spent way too long sorting out an alternative to a standard paddock stand for the rear.
All the above are now sorted and there will be posts soon on each of them (and I changed the seat!).
