I can’t recall how long it is since I’ve been to Blackpool to see the illuminations but today is Andy’s birthday and so yesterday we had a drive over with Andy. Despite an incredibly cold and grey start to the day the weather turned out to be tremendous for early October. Good enough for us to have a wander on the beach before enjoying a decent pint in a back street pub.
After that it was a bit more walking, a coffee and then fish and chips (well you can’t really go to see the lights and not have fish and chips can you?)
Then a drive through the lights and then home – not a bad day really.

Always worth a visit…nice to see them still going strong and very glad to see Pat’s arm is on the mend. In a previous life (45yrs ago) I lived for several years just down the road in Lytham St Annes..the St Annes bit. Always a memory as I made two of the biggest mistakes of my entire life there by 1) trading in my loved MGB GT V8 for the new TR7 (bad move) and 2) losing a collection of Krugerrands (allegedly given as a present) to a previous divorce settlement (very, very bad move).
Cheers George – yes still going strong and … two bad moves there George with the MGB and the k/rands – and yes Pats arms is well on the mend now. Some more pix next week as I have a few days in Scotland this weekend with friends (on the bike) and then Pat and I are away in Cumbria for a few days next week. Trust all is well
