Today was another of those great days when I got to pick up another new bike – I traded my Honda CB1000R for the 2014 Z1000 SX – the new bike comes with quickly detachable panniers, which for the most part of the year will live in the garage attic but will be used for european trips and the odd over nighter here and there.
They will get their first proper use at the start of July when six of us are off to Bavaria for our annual european road trip.
In some respects I was sorry to see the Honda go it’s been a good bike and one that I have really enjoyed – I’ve taken most of the aftermarket parts of to sell on – and to me it looked a little odd today with its standard exhaust back on, its rear footrests and so on.
Unfortunately the rear colour matched seat cowl for the new Kawasaki hadn’t arrived in the dealers today and is now on back order for mid June – it will do a nice job of tidying up the rear end of the bike and I suppose at some point I’ll get rid of the to big tail section/number plate holder – but it can wait a while.
