Pat and I were in Cardiff earlier this week at my parents – as ever my mums Welsh cakes hit the sweet spot and we brought loads home – the only downside was the journey home … six hours to do about 185 miles!

Went for a very enjoyable walk on Saturday and Pat and I ended up doing the best part of 9.5 miles, the weather was just right and the scenery was just lovely along the Peak Forrest canal and onto Marple

Richard and I traveled to Newcastle yesterday for the first game of the season and City’s defence of the title. Decent day and very decent performance and result, and of course we opted for the healthy option when it came to lunch.
