Happy New year – 2026 from the motorbikes.blog

It’s that time of the year when the clock ticks over and we leave one year behind and look forward to the one that begins.

There’s a few reasons why I wont recall 2025 as one of my best years. Things have happened that I can’t change, but that I’ll never stop wishing hadn’t.

It is what it is

A phrase I’ve used a lot this year is ‘it is what it is.’

Sometimes we have no choice but to accept the misfortune we face. We do have a choice in how we think about it. The new year feels like as good a time as any to move on.

It also feels like a good time to look forward to what comes next.

One thing I want (sooner rather than later) is to get back on a bike.

Right now the timing of that is still uncertain. I’m also unsure what kind of bike I’ll end up on. But I am completely certain I will return to two wheels.

I have a few options in mind and I may even go down the DCT route. The timescale and practicality of that are still unclear.
