The fine weather earlier in the week provided a great opportunity for Pat and I to get out on the bike and for Pat to give her new Arai helmet a proper test.
By the time we had got home we had done around 170 miles and had a really enjoyable day. Firstly and most importantly the Arai, that we had bought the previous week, and that I wrote about here, was spot on and Pat had none of the discomfort that she had the previous week when she had used her old helmet.
We rode out through Alderley Edge and Holmes Chappel, down Coach Lane towards Oulton Park then via Oswestry to Corwen where we stopped for a bite to eat the the very decent Tollgate cafe on the A5 near Glyndyfrdwy and between Llangollen and Corwen. If you do get out that way I can confidently recommend the sausage sandwiches
We had stopped earlier at The Firestation in Malpas in Cheshire. Coffee and service were great and it’s certainly a coffee stop that we will use again.
After Corwen we headd back for home via Llangollen, sort of towards towards Whitchurch but then via Broxton before pretty much re-tracing our route via Holmes Chappel and to home.
All in all a pretty good day on the bike for both of us.
